Why you need this kit
If you are fitting a new or reconditioned turbo to an M57N2, reusing the old hardware is the fastest way to end up doing the job twice. BMW specifies the turbo mounting bolts and studs as single-use stretch fasteners, and the exhaust-side gaskets harden and crack once they have been through a heat cycle.
- Reused exhaust gaskets are the number one cause of post-install boost leaks and soot tracking
- Stretched or re-torqued turbo bolts can back off or snap in the manifold
- A perished oil feed or return gasket will weep oil onto a hot exhaust — smoke and a fire risk
- A worn V-band clamp will not seal the downpipe joint and will drone under load
- Dry-starting a new turbo without pre-oiling the bearing is a warranty-voiding mistake — the included assembly oil solves it

Important Notes
- This is a mounting / fitting kit only — the turbocharger itself is not included.
- The M57N2 runs a compound twin-turbo setup (small high-pressure plus large low-pressure turbo). This kit covers the turbocharger mounting hardware; check your specific job scope if you are only replacing one unit.
- All bolts and studs supplied are single-use. Do not reuse the originals and do not reuse these once torqued.
- Torque all fasteners to BMW specification in the correct sequence. Anti-seize on exhaust threads is recommended for future serviceability.
- Pre-fill the new turbo's oil feed with the supplied assembly oil and crank without starting before first fire-up.
