This is the spring inside the injector pump, located under the banjo bolt on the supply side of the pump where the gauze filter goes.
Often people rip the gauze filter and spring out and throw them in the bin. If your keen to make sure your injectors don't get any super fine particles in them then this spring and the gauze (listed separately) are a must.
