WHAT IS IT?
RDDMAX01 is a bump steer correction kit that fixes a geometry problem in 2019 onwards Isuzu MUX, D-MAX and Mazda BT50. Fixing the bump steer improves tyre life and reduces driver fatigue on rough roads.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The RDDMAX01 rack drop kit works by replacing the existing rack mounting bushes with offset bushes to lower the rack to a more optimal position without increasing NVH (Noise/Vibration/ Harmonics) maintaining ADR compliance.
WHAT’S INVOLVED IN FITTING?
This is a job a wheel alignment shop can do on a 4-post hoist in 3 hours incl. Wheel alignment that MUST be performed to Original OE spec: Castor 3.2, camber 0, toe +/-0.5mm.
IS THIS ADR COMPLIANT?
RDDMAX01 is an ADR compliant steering correction kit. To maintain ADR compliance, you must retain all soft mounts in the steering system and not introduce extra loads via rigid mounting.
DOES THIS REQUIRE AN ENGINEERING CERTIFICATE?
This bump steer correction kit does not require engineering certification as it uses OE style soft bushes and does not increase NVH maintaining ADR compliance.
HOW MUCH DOES A RACK DROP IMPROVE MY BUMP STEER AND TYRE WEAR?
Using our rack drop kit, you will remove 40% of the excessive bump steer in your MUX, D MAX and Mazda BT50. Improving driver feedback and tyre wear proportionately.
I HAVE A NEWER MODEL, DO I NEED THIS?
D-MAX & Mazda BT50 2020 July-Onwards / MUX 2021 June-Onwards have a large bump steer problem. Facelifted 2025 cars that have had a 50% reduction in bump steer will still see an improvement in tyre wear and driveability with a rack drop being fitted.
DO I NEED A FULL REPLACEMENT OF MY KNUCKLES?
While a full bump steer correction is appealing, the cost does not outweigh the tyre wear. Removing 40% of your bump steer using our rack drop kit will have your car driving nicer and tyre wear will be minimised for a realistic budget.
