BMW M57 / M57N2 Plastic Intake Manifold - Without Flap Control Motor
A complete direct-replacement plastic intake manifold for BMW 2.5 and 3.0 litre M57 / M57N / M57N2 six-cylinder diesel engines, supplied with new intake gaskets and mounting bolts so you can do the job in one go.
Replaces BMW part number 11617800585 (also written 11 61 7 800 585 / 7800585). Manufactured by Bugiad under part number BIM17019.

Why replace the intake manifold?
The plastic swirl flaps inside M57 intake manifolds are one of the best-known weak points on these engines. The metal pivot pins wear over time and the flaps can break free and get drawn straight into the cylinder head - which typically means bent valves, damaged pistons and a wrecked turbocharger. Fitting a fresh manifold (or fitting this one with the flaps blanked) removes that risk for good, and also cures the carbon-clogged runners that strangle airflow on high-kilometre engines.
Important - No Flap Control Motor Included
This is the "without flap control motor" version of the manifold. The manifold body, runners and gaskets are all supplied, but the electric/vacuum swirl flap actuator motor is not included - you carry your existing actuator over from the old manifold. If your actuator is faulty, order one separately.

Installation
Allow roughly 3-4 hours for the swap. We recommend installation is carried out by a qualified diesel technician. While you have the manifold off, it is worth replacing any brittle vacuum lines and inspecting the glow plug harness. If you are deleting the swirl flaps at the same time, keep the original actuator rail and vacuum line connected so the system doesn't log a fault.
