BMW M57N2 Plastic Intake Manifold with Swirl Flap Control
A complete direct-replacement intake manifold assembly for BMW 3.0 litre M57N2 six-cylinder diesel engines, supplied with a new intake gasket set and mounting bolts so the job can be done in one hit.
Replaces BMW part number 11617800584 (also written 11 61 7 800 584 / 7800584). Manufactured by Bugiad under part number BIM17000.

This version suits the 7 Series E65 / E66, X5 E70 and X6 E71. If your car is a 3 Series (E90 / E91 / E92 / E93), 5 Series (E60 / E61), 6 Series (E63 / E64), X3 E83 or X5 E53, you need the BMW M57 / M57N2 Intake Manifold without Flap Control Motor (11617800585) instead.
Why replace the intake manifold?
The plastic swirl flaps inside M57 intake manifolds are a well-known weak point. The metal pivot pins wear over time and the flaps can break free and get drawn into the cylinder head, which typically means bent valves, damaged pistons and a destroyed turbocharger. Replacing a tired manifold with a fresh unit (or fitting this one with the flaps blanked) removes that risk entirely.

Installation
Allow roughly 3-4 hours for the swap. We recommend installation is carried out by a qualified diesel technician, and that you replace the manifold gaskets and any brittle vacuum lines while you are in there. If you are deleting the swirl flaps at the same time, keep the original actuator rail and vacuum line connected so the system doesn't throw a fault.
